10 Women Who Made A Difference In My Life This Year – Part 2

Yesterday, I shared Part 1 of Women Who Made A Difference In My Life This Year. CLICK HERE to read it.

Today:

Michelle NeufeldtIt all started with Michelle. This journey. Two years ago. I walked into a then unheard-of class called Zumba. Nothing has been the same for me since. Michelle’s fire, her passion, her exuberance, her hootin ‘n hollerin’ got me out of a FUNK of epic proportion. Prior to Michelle, I HATED. HATED. HAY-TED exercise. Exercise was this punishing, awful thing I ‘had’ to do. There was no morsel of enjoyment ever. Until it was over.

Michelle got me to first not hate, then not mind, then LOVE exercise. Just by being her. Just by doing what she loves. Her energy is contagious. I also did 2 Fitness Bootcamps with Michelle this year. Michelle consistently goes above and beyond. She really wants all her clients to succeed. And that makes me want to try harder. She got me to focus on what was important. Not the number on the scale, but on how I feel.

Kelli Harker: Kelli is a personal stylist/ image consultant. She knows what looks good on your body, and can teach you how to know it for yourself. So not only does Kelli make me look fabulous on the outside, she got me to start thinking about all the ways in which I can start saying ‘yes’ to myself in day-to-day life. This has opened me up in subtle ways to be kinder, gentler, more loving version of myself. She also got me to buy that fabulous pair of boots, which I haven’t taken off for 2 months.

Elaine EdelsonI’ve felt alone my whole life. Until I met Elaine. In a year of big breakthroughs, Elaine is at the top of my list. Thanks to a session with Elaine, I have been able to carve out something I’ve been seeking my whole life: a deeply satisfying relationship with self. What else can I say about that, except THANK YOU.

Laurel Williamson: Money is one of my biggest challenges in life. I hate managing it. I am therefore terrible at it. I get freaked out, I shut down. I can’t see straight; often I can’t breathe. It scares me, both money itself and my reaction to it.  I’m probably the only one of her clients who she asks to show up with alcohol. I’m working on this unnatural relationship with money. In the meantime, I have Laurel, my bookkeeper. This lady puts up with me and my crippling fear and somehow still manages to keep my books in order and get my taxes done. And usually with a smile. And trust me, that’s no small feat.  So thank you.

Lynn Fiset: Lynn’s transformational constellations are some of the most far-out, woo-woo things I’ve ever done. (It’s no didgeridoo healing, but it’s out there.) And the great thing about Lynn is that she is the farthest thing from far-out and woo-woo. She is a strong, grounded, no bullshit kinda woman. She believes in what she does and doesn’t really give a shit whether you do or not. It works.  I swear after our session that pounds have been melting away. I feel lighter and more free. I feel joyful, calm, centred and grounded. Yep, I don’t know how it works – and I don’t need to – I just get to revel in the positive results!

I am a thousand times blessed to have all of you in my world.
